Our Resources:
Speakers
For over 75 years, it has been a journey full of adventure and God's great provision and we would love to share it with you. With humble beginnings dating back to just after World War II, our story is one of God’s great provision and growth. We have a fantastic network of speakers who will inform and inspire as they talk about the work of MAF. We cater for all types and sizes of meetings, completely free of charge.
Flight Simulator
Our high quality, mobile Flight Simulator is a wonderful attraction that can be used for special events, and it always attracts attention. It allows participants to take the controls of an MAF plane. It is a great experience for the wannabe pilot, regardless of age. The Fight Simulator is the perfect resource for an event, to attract people in, and is a great way to engage the whole family.
Display Aircraft
We have an ex-MAF Cessna 182 aircraft that used to serve in Papua New Guinea. It has been converted into a display plane that is a huge attraction. Normally reserved for larger events where visitors get to sit in the cockpit, try the controls, and although static, it gives an opportunity to feel like a real MAF pilot and your imagination can take you anywhere you want to fly to.
‘Every Picture Tells A Story’ – Photographic Exhibition
Our photographic exhibition 'Every Picture Tells a Story' showcases the work of MAF, our partners and the end beneficiaries of our work. It explores how our flights support water, food, medical and education projects in remote areas, and enables the Church worldwide to grow. This resource is great to engage wider communities in a really creative way.
Do you think you and your team have what it takes to beat The MAF Cube? Through a series of fun, yet challenging, games and puzzles, we’ll test a whole host of different skills including memory, problem-solving and sense of direction – all vital skills for our MAF engineers and pilots who serve across the world. Normally reserved for larger events, this is a great team challenge and works really well at community events to engage a big audience.
An escape room-style team game. Time is of the essence… Can you be the difference between life and death? MAF’s interactive Rescue Challenge helps you experience what it’s really like to work and serve in some of the most remote places in the world, using ‘real-life’ scenarios that give insight into some of the challenges our pilots may experience on a day-to-day basis. Normally reserved for larger events, this is a great team challenge and works really well at community events to engage a big audience.
We have a variety of resources for young people that will inspire and ignite an interest in world mission. Want to bring MAF into the classroom? We have a great collection of resources for you to use in schools. Bring MISSION + AVIATION + ADVENTURE to life at your Youth Group with our free guest speakers.
A suite of resources that consider the topic of sustainability and how the work of MAF is helping to advance the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals. These resources look at what the Bible has to say about this important and current topic, and what role Christians can play to best steward the planet. There is a 6-session Bible Study, an interactive workshop and a 3-part podcast series.
A Movie Night with the incredible cinematic portrayal featuring MAF pilot Nate Saint who along with four other missionaries met their deaths in Ecuador in 1956. End of the Spear is a film that both challenges and encourages. MAF have the licence for screening the film and will also provide all advertising, posters, and tickets (free event) as well as a short 90 second trailer that can be shown before the event itself.
A multi-denominational prayer network facilitated by MAF, raising awareness of the challenges faced by those around the world and highlighting the wide work of global mission organisations. Along with 3 other worldwide missional organisations, we bring people from the UK and overseas together digitally, praying for the needs of others. The aim is to build relationships, allowing others to be praying for our church communities, as well as our prayer groups in Scotland praying for others.
Everyone likes a quiz. This community quiz is a great way to bring your church, the community and even local businesses together. A fully audio-visual experience that will test the brains of even the brightest, not because the questions are difficult but because it’s designed to engage people of all ages. A great way to engage your community and bring people together. Hosting a quiz can be a great way to raise funds.
Food Glorious Food!
No gathering is complete without good food. MAF have designed two food-based initiatives: A breakfast called ‘Frying for Life’ and an MAF themed coffee morning or afternoon tea called ‘Bake Off To Take Off’. Both are great ways to bring people together and also as a community outreach. These resources can be used as fundraisers, or can be used as part of a larger event, perhaps involving some of the other great MAF resources.
Do you like the idea of utilising more than one of our great resources? If so ,would your church consider partnering with MAF to provide a lifeline of hope to forgotten people living in desperate need? Everything works better when we work together. At MAF we offer bespoke partnerships with churches tailored to suit your local needs and mission from our menu of resources. In return your congregation can help change the lives of remote communities by helping us spread the gospel through our work, by getting involved and supporting the partnership. A great way to engage your congregation in overseas mission.
