Siobhain and Ryan Cole

Ryan was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, in a strong Christian family and accepted Jesus as his Saviour at the age of 8.  After High School, Ryan went to Prairie Bible College where his relationship with God deepened and he was baptized during his first year of studies.

After acquiring his Commercial Pilot’s Licence at the conclusion of his second year, Ryan went on a 2-week Leadership course and Bible study tour in Israel where God called him to be a pilot with MAF. Upon returning home, he was selected for a MAF apprenticeship program.  In January 2008 Ryan was assigned, through MAF, as a pilot with Flying Mission Services in Botswana.  Ryan was able to serve the people of Botswana by flying air ambulance flights for 2 years.  To gain more flight experience after returning to Canada, Ryan spent 2 years flying with a company in northern Alberta.  In 2013 God reaffirmed Ryan’s calling to fly for MAF and he was sent to Papua New Guinea in 2016.

Siobhain was born in Lincoln, UK, and raised in military communities in England and Germany. She has been a friend of Jesus for as long as she can remember and was baptised at the age of 8.  Like many children, what she wanted to be when she grew up changed regularly.  After graduating from University she followed in the footsteps of her parents & grandfather and joined the Royal Air Force, working in logistics and airport management in London, Scotland and the Falkland Islands.  Her contract ended at the beginning of 2013, giving her the opportunity to ask God, ‘What next?’ In the process of investigating different charities and NGOs, her Mum suggested MAF.  During the application process she attended the En Route Course at All Nations Christian College where she had the opportunity to deepen her faith. She was accepted by MAF to go to Papua New Guinea in 2014, where she served in the challenging role of Ground Operations Manager running a department of 40 staff at 9 different locations around PNG for almost 4 years.  She is currently serving in a varied support role within the Operations department.

Ryan and Siobhain met in PNG shortly after Ryan’s arrival in early 2016.  After 8 months of culturally challenging courtship, Ryan proposed on a tropical island off the coast of PNG whilst all of their parents watched.  They were married in the UK in July 2017 and are now serving in the remote bush village of Telefomin, near the western border of PNG.  We invite you to prayerfully consider joining their ministry partnership team and supporting the work and ministry that they are involved in with MAF in Papua New Guinea.
