Why should I make a Will?

By making your Will now, you can be assured that your estate will go exactly where you want it to and that your loved ones will be provided for. It also gives you the chance to make a lasting difference to the causes you care most about.

Having a valid Will in place is important as otherwise, your estate may not go where you would have wished. This could cause problems for those closest to you.

What kind of gift can I leave to MAF in my Will?

Residuary gift – A percentage share of your estate. Once you've provided for your family and friends, you could leave a share to MAF. An advantage of a residuary gift is that it keeps up with inflation and doesn’t lose its value over time

Pecuniary gift – A fixed sum of money

Specific gift – Jewellery, a painting, any item that you think will be of significant value to MAF's work when sold

What information do I need to give my solicitor?

Your solicitor will need our charity details. These are:

Name and address:

Mission Aviation Fellowship, Castle Hill Avenue, Folkestone, Kent, CT20 2TQ

Registered charity number: 1064598 and in Scotland SC039107

What wording should I use?

I give all (or __ %) of the residue of my estate to Mission Aviation Fellowship UK of Castle Hill Avenue, Folkestone, Kent, CT20 2TQ (registered charity number 1064598 and in Scotland SC039107) absolutely for its general purposes, and I direct that the receipt(s) of the Director of Finance or other duly authorised officer shall be sufficient discharge to my executors.

Are there any tax benefits if I leave a gift to MAF in my Will?

All gifts left to MAF are completely free from inheritance tax as we are a registered charity. Your solicitor will be able to help you make your Will as tax efficient as possible.

How will my gift be used?

Your kind gift will help MAF continue to reach isolated people in remote communities all over the world. It will help bring help, hope and healing; transforming lives.

And if you don't limit your gift to a specific area of work it can be incredibly helpful to us – your gift can go wherever it's needed most.

If you would like to discuss leaving your gift to MAF, please email legacy@maf-uk.org or phone us on 01303 852819.

Do I need to tell MAF I've left them a gift?

If you’ve already included a gift to MAF in your Will thank you so much. Each and every legacy is a huge blessing. If you would like to email legacy@maf-uk.org we would love to thank you for your partnership. We would also love to hear what has inspired you to support us in this special way. These stories are a great encouragement to us.

Can I change my mind?

You are free to change your mind at any time. Your Will is personal and we fully understand this. Just because you have let us know that you plan to leave a gift in your Will to MAF doesn't commit you to doing so. If you do change your mind, we would really appreciate you telling us so that we can update our records.
