Giving Tuesday: God is the builder

The MAF South Sudan team operate in a volatile country that maintains a fragile peace agreement against a backdrop of recent – and bloody – civil strife.

MAF’s team is growing!

In order to respond to the incredible opportunities to bring Christian help and hope, we have expanded our fleet to eight aircraft. Obviously, we also have to recruit additional pilots, engineers and other operational missionaries.

However, secure accommodation in the capital Juba doesn’t come cheap. There is a severe shortage of appropriate housing for our families. With more than 250 NGOs based in the city, the few homes available to them cost more than £3,000 a month.

That’s comparable to our staff renting in central London!

‘My people will live in peaceful dwelling places, in secure homes, in undisturbed places of rest’ Isaiah 32:18

The MAF compound at Korok – near our Juba Airport base – enables our current staff team to live together safely. There is enough land there to complete the Korok project's second phase: building six new homes for MAF staff!

It’s vital that we provide a secure, family-friendly environment for our staff who serve under challenging, stressful conditions in South Sudan. Safe homes also enable them to remain in post for longer periods of time.

Yes, thanks to a Christian charitable trust – a generous member of the MAF family – whatever gift you care to make towards the Korok project will be automatically DOUBLED.

We’re hoping and praying that you’ll help us with our most ambitious Giving Tuesday project yet.

Just a few clicks and your doubled gift will go directly towards completing the second and final phase of the Korok housing compound! These six new homes will then provide a safe and secure future for our dedicated MAF South Sudan team.

Thank you for helping to build the future for our team, so that they can help build the future with the people of the world’s youngest country.
