Update: Dog bite emergency

1 December 2011

MAF pilot Andrew Parker, who flew a young boy bitten by a rabid dog in a remote Tanzanian village, has sent us an update:

‘I was back in Mahaka again for the monthly mother-and-child clinic and was introduced to the boy's father, who was really happy to be able to say 'thank you' for the way we helped.

'Here are two pictures, one of the boy himself where you can see how the wound next to his mouth has healed, and the other of the boy with his father and uncle. The boy's father has his hand on the boy's head and the uncle is the one in the blue striped shirt (he is the one who accompanied the boy to Dodoma). The other two men are evangelists from Dodoma.

'It was good for me to meet them again as so often we don't get to see the results of the things we've been involved in.'
