Supporting Church growth in Mongolia

Mission Aviation Fellowship is involved in various ministries around the world from medical flights to evangelism, from education to relief work. Every 3 minutes, an MAF plane is taking off or landing somewhere in the developing world.

MAF has been operating in Mongolia since 2000 under the name of Blue Sky Aviation (BSA). With one aircraft, the MAF team is able to provide support to the growing Church in its outreach to the Mongolian people.

Flights regularly support the work of Ulaanbaatar Baptist Church, which is a large church based in the capital city.

Regular teams travel with MAF to other towns and cities to share the Gospel and to encourage local believers in their faith. They also add practical support, sometimes with medical care, other times offering a service such as cutting hair. Through these services, they can demonstrate the love of God to people who have never heard about Jesus Christ. Many people have made a commitment to Christ during these short visits and then go on to share their faith in their own communities.

A recent report from the church summarises details of a few of these trips during the last year:

‘Bible seminars organised in Baruun Urt, Sukhbaatar province, including 120 people. Local people also made the trip for this meeting and attended from neighbouring city Choibalsan, Dornod province.

‘Bible seminar organised in Khovd, Tsetseg and Must, Khovd province. About 60 people received Jesus after those meetings. Every time when we were about to leave those people, many people had tears in their eyes and waved goodbye to us. It is very heart-touching for us and makes us always to come to them again. Without BSA, we cannot share Good News with such many people in remote places.

‘Bible seminar organised in Choibalsan, Dornod province. We were there twice before, but we saw still so many people need salvation. About 160 people participated in this meeting, and also some people were able to receive some medical treatment during this time. We had three doctors from Korea in our team. They worked very hard and able to treat 200 people from morning until evening, and almost had no break. There was one lady whose face was paralysed. She was suffering and couldn’t sleep for last three months because of that. She received medical and face become normal and were able to sleep. We were praising God that He is not only saving their soul but their body as well.’

With a worldwide fleet of over 120 aircraft, MAF supports the work of 1,000 organisations in more than 35 countries.
