Mandritsara is a small market town of 12,000 in northern Madagascar. A further 250,000 people live as subsistence farmers in the surrounding countryside.
Dr Mann heads up the work of Good News Hospital in Mandritsara. Every month 2000 out-patients are seen; every year the medical team conduct 1000 surgical operations. Patients come from far away - on foot, by ox cart or carried by others for up to 3 days to reach the hospital. The nearest alternative is 200km away.
The hospital team, while meeting the patient's medical needs, also share the 'Good News' about Jesus Christ as part of their daily acitivity.
