Mission Aviation Fellowship's
amphibious Caravan was on hand to save the life of an elderly lady in
Bangladesh.
Relief pilot Rune Karlsson reports from Bangladesh:
'There was a call late afternoon for a medical flight to Chittagong. It is a one-hour flight to the south. It was almost dark when we took off from Dhaka. We had a really good tailwind going down there so the flight lasted only 50 minutes. We had to wait for a while before they let the ambulance in to the airport.
'An elderly lady suffered from a stroke and kidney problems. Her condition was quite bad; she would not have survived a six-hour road ambulance transport to Dhaka. So MAF is needed in Bangladesh that is for sure.'
