12 NOV 10 - Mission Aviation Fellowship is assisting partner agencies in their efforts to contain outbreaks of cholera around Haiti.
MAF has performed nine flights to support Samaritan’s Purse, Operation Blessing, and Medical Teams International. On board were medical teams and supplies, including water filters and more than 1,000kg of 'Manna Packs' - specially formulated food packets for malnourished people, which help prevent dehydration.
The MAF team remains on standby should more medical flights become necessary.
MAF has been working in Haiti since 1986, and has a permanent base at the Port-au-Prince airport with 7 international families, 15 Haitian staff members, and 4 aircraft.
