LATEST NEWS: Famine relief in Lodwar, Northern Kenya

19 August 2011

Described as the ‘forgotten crisis’ in the East Africa famine, the situation among the Turkana people in north-west Kenya has only just made our TV screens. They too are starving; rains have not fallen, drought has led to failed crops, animals are dying, and a dispersed population living in extremely isolated places means it is difficult for aid to reach many of the remote villages.

But these people are not forgotten. Able to reach these more remote communities, MAF flights have carried food to Lodwar to be distributed to some of the neighbouring communities. Watch this short film.
