Heartbeat in Kenya

Two MAF flights, earlier in the year, assisted a team from Heartbeat Ministries in Kenya.

Pilot Derek Moores flew Heartbeat’s team to and from Bura, east Kenya, to check on the projects they are funding there. Two previous trips had led to them building an orphanage and a high school with boarding facilities. The next stage of their work included purchasing a fruit farm, to help feed the orphans.

The team heard about MAF at a conference in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and made contact upon arrival in Nairobi.

Mike Murphy of Heartbeat Minsitries shares:

It was our first time to fly with MAF and we were so grateful to save all the time driving would have taken. It made a huge difference to the team to arrive refreshed and ready to go. The ministry that MAF has to those of us doing mission work in areas that are more difficult to reach is such a wonderful blessing.

The team’s work during their visit included a pastors' conference. It was a time of teaching and healing, dealing with unforgiveness, bitterness, the Father's heart of love, and sonship. The high school students with their teachers attended as well.

A few weeks after the visiting Heartbeat team left, 40 of the high school students were moved greatly by the Holy Spirit. They began to ask forgiveness of one another for things that they had held against each other, against their teachers and others. The students are so excited about what the Lord is doing in their hearts and their lives.

A similar thing happened to the teachers who were meeting weekly to hear more about healing issues of the heart.
