MAF in Guatemala
The organisation AGAPE in Guatemala is an affiliate of MAF.
The operation flies into the most isolated areas of Guatemala reaching people with the Gospel and essential supplies. Small aircraft fly across mountains and jungles landing on short, narrow runways (with an average elevation of 5000 feet).
As well as flying, AGAPE is involved in a number of other projects. There is a Bible teaching programme to help strengthen the rural church, training and teaching leaders who have never had the chance of formal Bible training but who lead congregations in the villages.
There is also a youth leadership programme in the rural areas, Sunday school teachers’ programmes, and community development programmes such as water purification projects for the villages. The hope is that every village family will have access to pure, clean drinking water.
MAF/AGAPE also run mobile medical clinics in the villages.
