Dadaab teacher rescued

Teacher onboard the MAF plane at Dadaab Refugee Camp, Kenya
8 August 2011

A teacher at the Dadaab refugee camp in northern Kenya was flown to hospital in Nairobi, following a severe medical reaction.

The teacher sustained the illness after receiving a tetanus shot.

MAF Disaster Reponse Manager John Woodberry reports, 'He was in quite a bit of pain and had a severe rash as the medical staff laid him down in the aircraft.'

MAF's PC12 aircraft was called to bring the patient to Nairobi and a hospital that could help stabilise him.

Pray...

Pray for a full recovery for the teacher. Pray too for health and strength for all those working at Dadaab refugee camp during this challenging time.
