From Andy and Heather:
As a boy, Andy grew up in various places around Scotland and developed a love for all things mechanical. At 17 years old, he made a commitment to serve Christ and, after finishing school, he trained as an engineer in the Merchant Navy. In 2003, Andy married Heather and, soon after, began working ashore in renewable energy generation. We relocated to Perthshire in 2006, fully expecting to spend the next 25 years there. But God had other plans!
Andy felt a strong call nearly two years ago to retrain as an aircraft maintenance engineer, and serve with MAF in whatever part of the world there was a need. After much prayer, God confirmed this call to both of us.
For the last four years, Heather’s focus has been on running our home and raising our two children Abigail and Matthew. As a music teacher and pianist, she often leads worship at our home church in Pitlochry.
Following a successful interview process, we are preparing to move to Ohio, USA, in the autumn of 2010. Andy will spend the next three years there training with Missionary Maintenance Services as an aircraft maintenance engineer. We will then go on to serve for a further eight years wherever MAF should place us. It is a privilege to be able to work with such a well-regarded organisation as MAF, and we are looking forward to the opportunity to demonstrate Christ’s love in such a practical and real way.
As we begin this exciting new challenge, we are looking for a team of people who will be committed to supporting us prayerfully, financially, or both. Please consider prayerfully whether you would be able to support us in any way.
